On moderate load, you'll get maybe 5 hours of battery life in both Windows and Ubuntu, I get maybe 2 or 3 when pushing the CPU. Remember this is meant to be a professional workstation.
The Art of Power
If you need something with more stamina, can make it through an 8 hour flight, and are just doing PowerPoint, web browsing, watching videos, etc, I'd recommend ASUS ZenBook Pro UX501 Intel WLAN with a dual core i5 or i7 like in the Asus ZenBook UX which I was debating between. The construction quality and tactile feel of the ZenBook UX are excellent. Its design is clearly paying hommage to the MacBook Pro but stands on its own uniqueness.

The computer makes a great portable workstation as it ASUS ZenBook Pro UX501 Intel WLAN a large screen and keyboard so you feel productive without a monitor. When you plug in a monitor, the laptop display makes an excellent secondary screen.
I won't comment on the Windows 10 side too much as pretty much all the reviewers are using Windows and they've covered it extensively. I'll just say that I've had no issues with the Windows install, all hardware works great, very little pre-installed crapware, and 4K support is really well done.
I've tested tested with both First build an Ubuntu install disk on a USB thumb drive either Go to last tab and boot override using the USB drive containing ubuntu. Sound, video, brightness, suspend, wifi, ethernet, all appear to work. I highly recommend using Applications ran smoothly, with no issues. And I found no lag in its touchscreen response.
Sadly, the display appears to lack an oleophobic coating; very quickly, it became littered with my fingerprints. Among its PC competition, the UX is all about value. At a reasonable price, this laptop delivers greater capacity and a higher-resolution display for less than the competition.
