Slide the two battery-bay latch releases on the bottom of the computer.

Remove the battery from the battery bay. Press the power button to ground the system board. To prevent damage to the system board, remove the main battery before you service the computer. Use your fingertips to carefully spread apart the securing clips on each end of the memory module connector until the module pops up. Remove the module from the connector. Insert memory modules at a degree angle Dell Latitude D430 System prevent damage to connectors.
